Everything about the Minute Book Pen is set up to put down as little ink as possible while still writing without a skip. The nib is a No. 5 ground extra fine — 0.33 mm measured on 100 gsm — with a tight slit and a feed restricted by a shortened ink channel. On thin paper it does not feather and it does not show through. On absorbent paper it still behaves.

The barrel is 132 mm capped in black ebonite with a matte-blasted finish so it does not slip in a warm hand, and it weighs 19 g filled. The section is narrow at 9.8 mm, which suits the close grip most people use when writing small. There is no clip; the pen is meant to lie in the gutter of an open book.

Because it runs dry it will show up a badly behaved ink faster than a wetter pen will. Use a free-flowing ink, keep it capped, and flush it monthly. Converter supplied.
