A 38 mm brass bowl on a 120 mm walnut handle, with a separate machined brass stand that holds the spoon level 55 mm above a standard tealight. The stand is the part most sets leave out, and without it melting wax is a two-handed job with a burnt thumb.
The bowl is deep rather than shallow — 14 mm — which holds enough for a 25 mm seal without the wax skinning over before you pour, and it is spun rather than cast so the wall is an even 1 mm and heats uniformly. A cast bowl has thick and thin spots and scorches the wax at the thin ones.
Brass takes and sheds heat fast, so the spoon is ready in about 90 seconds and cool enough to set down in two minutes. The handle is a press fit with a brass ferrule and can be replaced. Clean it by re-melting and wiping with a paper towel, never by scraping.
