A limp-bound book: no boards, no case, just a heavy wrapper and a visible sewing through the spine. The structure is the oldest one there is and the lightest for its page count, and because nothing is glued it opens completely flat and stays open without a weight.
96 pages of 120 gsm unruled cotton rag — the same stock as the cotton writing pad — in four signatures, sewn with a waxed linen thread through five stations. The thread is left exposed on the spine in a long-stitch pattern; that is the binding, not a decoration, and if a station ever loosens it can be re-tensioned by hand.
The wrapper is a vellum-grain board in cream, soft enough to roll back on itself. Unruled throughout. This is the book for drawing, for flex writing, and for anything where a printed line would be in the way. The guide sheet set works underneath it.
