One hundred correspondence cards on 300 gsm uncoated cotton rag, cut to 105 by 148 mm, with the edges bevelled and painted in registry violet. Painted edges are a nineteenth-century trick: the card is guillotined, the stack is clamped and the exposed edge is brushed, so the colour sits only on the cut face and shows as a thin line when the card is held flat and a solid block when the stack is viewed from the side.
The face is blank; the reverse carries a single blind-letterpress rule 12 mm from the head, which is deep enough to feel with a thumbnail. Cotton rag at 300 gsm is the most forgiving surface in this catalogue — it takes a flexible nib and a wet broad without a hint of feathering, and it dries fast because the fibre is open.
Supplied in a lidded board box with a ribbon pull. Matching lined envelopes are sold separately and are cut to fit with 3 mm clearance.
