Fifty sheets of 120 gsm cotton rag, unruled, gummed at the head on a board back. Cotton rag is a different material from wood-pulp paper: the fibres are longer, the sheet is stronger wet, and the surface is slightly soft, which is why it is the only stock here we would recommend for a flexible nib.
A flex nib puts down a lot of ink very fast on a down-stroke and the paper has to take it without feathering sideways. Wood pulp at this weight will feather. Cotton will not, and it also recovers from the physical pressure of spread tines instead of embossing.
It is unruled on purpose. If you need a line, the guide sheet set slips underneath and shows through clearly at 120 gsm. The surface is smooth but not coated, so drying is normal rather than slow. This is the most expensive paper per sheet in the catalogue and it is the one to use when it matters.
