A pocket pen is only useful if posting it gives you a real pen back. Capped, the Quire is 108 mm; posted, it is 142 mm, which is the length of a full-size pen, and the balance sits right where it should because the cap is turned thin. The body is solid brass with a fine diamond knurl over the whole barrel, so it grips through a glove and picks up a patina rather than scratches.
At 38 g posted it is the heaviest thing we make for its size. The nib is a No. 5 in fine, tuned slightly dry to survive being carried nib-up in a pocket. The cap seals on an inner liner with a silicone lip; we have left pens filled for eight weeks and found them wet.
Takes short international cartridges only — there is no room for a converter, and we would rather tell you that than sell you one that does not fit. Six violet cartridges are supplied.
