The same paper and the same binding as the A4 Folio, in the size most people actually carry. 192 pages of 100 gsm cream laid, eight signatures, section-sewn, flat-opening from page one. The page count is higher than the A4 because the smaller signature folds take more leaves before the spine gets thick.
A5 is the compromise size and it is a good one: wide enough for a full line of adult handwriting without wrapping, small enough to go in a coat pocket. The cover is book cloth over board in graphite rather than cream, because a carried notebook gets marked and a dark cloth hides it.
Same ink behaviour as the A4 — no bleed with a broad wet nib, a faint ghost on the reverse, slightly slow drying because the sheet is absorbent. Blind-debossed mark, cream ribbon, rounded corners. Ruled at 7 mm or blank.
