Registry Violet is the colour this shop is built around. It is a dark violet pulled back towards grey, so it reads as a deliberate choice rather than a bright one, and it keeps its character on warm cream paper where most violets go pink. Dry time on 90 gsm laid is about 14 seconds in a medium nib; on coated paper, considerably longer.

It is a dye ink, not pigmented, and it is not waterproof — a wet thumb will move it. What it is instead is extremely well behaved: neutral pH, low surface tension, no shimmer, no sheen particles, nothing in it that will clog a fine feed or stain a demonstrator permanently. We tune every nib in the shop on this ink.

The bottle is faceted glass with a wide flat base that will not tip under a filling pen, and the neck is deep enough to submerge a No. 8 nib fully. 50 ml. Keep it capped and out of sun; it will hold its colour for years.
