A roll protects against scratches; a hard case protects against being sat on. This one is a moulded polymer shell covered in the same 1.2 mm undyed vegetable-tanned hide as the pen roll, with a felt-lined divider between the two bays so the pens cannot meet.
It takes two pens up to 150 mm and 16 mm diameter — which is everything here except the 158 mm Registry 01 desk pen, and we would rather say that plainly than have you find out. The lid closes on a hidden magnet with a leather tab pull; there is no zip, because zips fail and a magnet does not.
Internal dimensions 152 by 46 by 24 mm, external 162 by 56 by 32 mm, weight 110 g. It will take the two-pen rotation most people actually carry and fits in a jacket’s inside pocket, just. The hide will darken and the shell will not.
