Mechanically identical to the graphite Entry Standard: same No. 6 medium nib at 0.6 mm, same nine-fin ebonite feed, same 136 mm body and 20 g filled weight, same converter. What changes is the material. The barrel is cast in deep registry violet with a slow swirl that goes almost black at the ends, and the clip and cap band are blackened steel rather than bright.
The colour is poured in small batches and no two barrels match, which means the one you receive is the one in the photograph only in character, not in pattern. Under direct light the swirl reads clearly; under room light the pen looks black until it is turned.
If you are pairing it with an ink, the violet barrel is a difficult match for a violet ink and an easy one for blue-black or sepia. Converter and two cartridges supplied.
