Built for the posture nobody designs for any more: sitting at a sloped desk, writing in a bound book, for two or three hours. The barrel is 144 mm and almost perfectly cylindrical — no taper, no step at the section — so the pen does not rotate out of true when the hand relaxes. The nib collar is turned brass, which puts 4 g right at the front and keeps the nib down against the page without any grip pressure at all.
At 27 g filled, with the weight forward, it is a pen you steer rather than hold. The No. 6 nib is a medium ground slightly round so it is insensitive to rotation; on a sloped surface the angle of attack changes constantly and a flat grind would skip. Line is 0.62 mm.
The body is cream acrylic over a black core, so the step where the two meet shows as a fine dark ring at the blind end. Converter supplied.
