Most black fountain pen inks are dye blacks and sit somewhere between charcoal and very dark grey on the page. This is not one of those. Carbon Black is pigmented — ground carbon particles held in suspension — which means the line is genuinely opaque, flat, and photographs and scans as a true black with no colour cast.
The particle size is small enough for a fountain pen feed, but it is still a suspension, and that imposes two rules. First, do not let it dry in the pen: pigment that dries in a feed channel does not redissolve the way a dye does, and it will need a proper soak. Second, give it flow — it is at its best in a medium or broader, and it will struggle in a very dry extra fine.
Used properly it is the most permanent ink here. It is waterproof, light-fast, and does not fade. Shake the bottle gently before filling. 50 ml.
